Your event

Start with what needs to happen.

Make space for their favorite parts

Will there be a meal, cake, music, games, or dancing? Bring a rough guest count and walk through the order of the party in the ballroom.

Send family one timeline for portraits, dinner, and the main celebration so guests know when to arrive.

Ask before you book

Ask how the room can fit the seating, entertainment, and photographs you have in mind.

The details

Work through the event.

Start with the birthday person. Would they want everyone together for a meal and cake, or plenty of room for music and dancing? Once you know that, seating and decorations become easier to plan. During a tour, point out where you imagine the cake, photographs, and entertainment, then see how much room is left for guests to move around.
